Our company specializes in so-called inheritance research.

What does it mean exactly ?

In short: the purpose of heir research is to provide assistance in finding and notifying relatives who are entitled to inherit. Our company searches for and notifies all relatives who may be entitled to the inheritance - chattel or property - left by the deceased, and we assist them in obtaining the portion of the inheritance they are entitled to.

In more detail: the inheritance procedure and the decision concluding it create the inheritance. During the probate process, obtaining and verifying the information of the heirs is essential for completing the probate inventory.

At the same time, it happens that neighbors and acquaintances only know a little about the deceased relative or possible heir, their exact details and location. There can be many reasons for this, the situation is not rare at all. The heir is a distant relative, possibly living abroad, with whom the testator did not keep in touch. It may happen that a descendant of such a relative is the legal heir, of whom the testator was not even aware. It is possible that the degree of kinship seems so remote that the heirs do not even assume that they could inherit according to the legal inheritance system.

If none of the interested parties know exactly who and where the heir may be, according to the law, the notary is not responsible for investigating. In this case - in order for the heir to be informed about the inheritance procedure - a so-called annoucement is delivered, i.e. when the place of residence of a person interested in the probate proceedings is unknown, or in a state where the service encounters an insurmountable obstacle, or when the attempted service already seems to be ineffective, then the service takes place by means of an announcement (on the official website of the Hungarian National Chamber of Notaries), in which the heir (provided that he is informed about it at all) can apply to the notary public. At the same time, it cannot be called practical for anyone to constantly monitor the announcements in the hope that they might get an inheritance through a distant relative.
